Driver seriously hurt after speeding car exiting Lodge goes airborne, lands upside down on pickup

DETROIT – A driver is seriously hurt after an airbone crash on the Lodge at Wyoming Avenue.

According to Michigan State Police, at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, a 36-year-old Detroit man was driving too fast on the Wyoming exit ramp.

He lost control, ran through the freeway fencing, went airborne, and overturned on top of a Dodge Ram truck that was on the entrance ramp from Wyoming.

The driver was partially thrown from the car and pinned between the two vehicles.

Firefighters had to cut him free before rushing him to the hospital.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was okay.

“Speeding is dangerous, especially on freeway ramps,” said Lt. Mike Shaw. “Pay attention to those yellow speed warning signs.”
