Missing Oakland County teen found in 51-year-old man’s Newaygo County home

Man charged with harboring a runaway, manufacturing child porn

A missing teen from Oakland County was found in Newaygo County, and a 51-year-old man is facing charges in connection with her disappearance.

The Rochester Hills teen was reported missing on Nov. 10, after she failed to return home from school.

Authorities received information that indicated the teen might be in the Newaygo County area, and deputies spotted the suspect vehicle connected to the case.

They obtained a search warrant for the residence associated with the vehicle, and searched a home in the 12000 block of North Bingham Avenue in Lilley Township at about 2 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13.

When deputies searched the home, the missing teen was found safe, according to police.

The teen is now in the care of Oakland County authorities.

The man, identified as a 51-year-old from the Bitley area, was taken into custody.

He is facing multiple charges, including harboring a runaway, manufacturing child pornography and firearm-related offenses.

The man is currently lodged at the Newaygo County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
