WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – The annual list of Michigan’s most dangerous intersections has been released, identifying the most hazardous spots in Washtenaw County.
Michigan Auto Law uses data from Michigan State Police crash reports to rank the intersections. The rankings from 2024 were revealed on Monday, Nov. 17.

In Washtenaw County, the North Hamilton Street and Washtenaw Avenue intersection in Ypsilanti ranked as the No. 1 most dangerous intersection.
This is the first year that this intersection has ranked on the list. In 2024, there were 132 crashes at this intersection and seven injuries.

The second most dangerous intersection is State Street and Ellsworth Road in Ann Arbor, which is a roundabout.
This roundabout borders Ann Arbor and Pittsfield Township, and crashes at this intersection fell from 126 in 2023 to 85 in 2024. There were five injuries in 2023 and five in 2024.
Any road with a traffic signal, a four-way stop, or a roundabout is considered an intersection, and crashes within 200 feet count toward an intersection’s total.
