It will be owned and operated locally by Joyce Mueller, a longtime Ann Arbor resident and University of Michigan alum. The restaurant is bringing about 80 jobs to the area.
The restaurant will be open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m. Guests can enjoy dine-in, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pickup, and curbside service.
Mueller is from Grosse Ile, and her first job was at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Georgia, after her family moved there.
She later moved to Ann Arbor for graduate school at the University of Michigan, and has lived in the area ever since.
“I fell in love with Ann Arbor when I moved here for graduate school and never left – I even raised my children here!” said Mueller. “My passion for Michigan and hospitality run deep: I’m one of four generations of University of Michigan alums in my family, held a leadership role at the university, and started as a Chick-fil-A Team Member at 15. My goal is to create a restaurant that cares for and gives back to the community that means so much to my family, a place where everyone feels welcome and at home.”
To celebrate the grand opening, Chick-fil-A invites guests to wear cow print on opening day (Dec. 12) to get a free entrée. The free entrée can be redeemed in the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
This playful tradition ties into Chick-fil-A’s iconic “Eat Mor Chikin” campaign that features cows and encourages people to choose chicken over burgers.
In addition to the celebration, Chick-fil-A is donating $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts through Food Gatherers, a local food bank.
The restaurant will also participate in Chick-fil-A’s Shared Table® program, which donates surplus food to local nonprofits.
