Men accused of stealing $138K from ATM, going on shopping spree at Somerset Collection

Two men from Texas are facing federal charges after reportedly breaking open an ATM and using the stolen cash for a Somerset Collection shopping spree.

According to authorities, four suspects used a Ford F-350 stolen out of Roseville and chains to break open a Metro Detroit ATM in September 2024. The group reportedly stole $138,000 and caused $80,000 in damages.

The FBI is searching for a Michigan woman accused of scamming California banks out of $30 million nearly a decade ago.

Authorities say Mary Carole McDonnell, 73, pretended to be an heir to the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation and claimed she had access to an $80 million trust.

Weather: Snow changing to a wintry mix, then back to snow for Metro Detroit on Wednesday

The snow moved in on queue late last night, has stuck around through the overnight, heading out the door early this morning, which is making the morning commute a real mess despite some of us changing over to a rain, snow shower mix this morning. The snow that did fall is a heavy, wet snow, so it will not be easy to get rid of, leading to over 400 school closings across southeastern Michigan heading through throughout Wednesday.
