During the holiday season, many parents take their kids to visit family — grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who may not have children around often and might not store their firearms securely.
In Michigan, the Child Access Prevention law requires firearms to be securely stored when children are present.
Secure storage is the most effective way to prevent tragedy and keep guns out of kids’ hands.
