Dispute on Michigan bike path leads to 1 death, 1 murder charge

Man arrested nearly 2 months after alleged stabbing

A 60-year-old Kimball Township man has been charged with murder following a stabbing on a local bike path. (WDIV)

KIMBALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A dispute on a Michigan bike path led to one person’s death and another being charged with murder.

Police said on Oct. 12, an altercation between Robert Barr, 60, and the 68-year-old victim from Port Huron resulted in the victim being stabbed.

It happened on a bike path in Kimball Township, police said.

The victim did not call 911 immediately, but made his own way to the hospital.

Barr called police after returning home to report the incident.

The victim died from his injuries on Oct. 28, 2025, at the hospital.

On Dec. 16, 2025, Barr was arrested and charged with murder.

He was arraigned in the 72nd District Court, where bond was set at $250,000
