Driver dies in rollover crash on I-75 exit ramp in Detroit

Driver was not wearing a seatbelt

DETROIT – A crash on an I-75 exit ramp in Detroit killed a driver on Monday.

It happened just after 2 p.m., Jan. 5, on the ramp to Schaefer Highway from northbound I-75.

According to authorities, the driver was going too fast on the curve, lost control and went off the road. The car then hit a guardrail and rolled over.

First responders said the driver was dead when they arrived.

Police have not identified the driver, but they confirmed they were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
