A Michigan mother shared her harrowing experience after scammers impersonated an Oakland County sheriff’s officer and swindled her family out of $2,100 following her daughter’s arrest for drunk driving.

The woman spoke to Local 4 under the condition of anonymity.

The ordeal began on her daughter’s 21st birthday.

Shooting and stabbing at Detroit bar leaves 1 dead, 1 critically injured

A man was killed and another seriously injured early Sunday morning after a shooting and stabbing at a bar on Detroit’s west side.

Police responded just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 4 to Chita’s Nefertiti Bar on Grand River, where they found the stabbing victim.

Man in critical condition after being shot by police in Allen Park

– A call about a man threatening to hurt himself ended with a shooting by police on Sunday in Allen Park.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 4 on Southfield Road near Dix Highway.

According to authorities, officers responded to a report of a suicidal person and spoke with the man armed with a knife at a coffee shop. Police said he refused to put down the knife and became aggressive.

Weather: First week of January brings a winter warm-up in Metro Detroit with rain chances

A low key start to this “back-to-routine” week. The first full week of January will feel a bit more spring-like. Before the warm-up ensues, Winter Weather Advisories in the northern half of Lower Michigan are in effect until 10AM. The snow has stayed confined north of I-69, and will taper off through the morning.
