ALPENA COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan landlord was arrested after police uncovered allegations that he sexually assaulted a tenant twice.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post began investigating a criminal sexual conduct complaint in Green Township in July 2025.

During the investigation, they identified 78-year-old Thomas Serino, a landlord known in the Gaylord, Vanderbilt, and Hubbard Lake areas.
Serino was arrested Dec. 30 on criminal sexual conduct charges and lodged in the Alpena County Jail.
He was arraigned Jan. 2 in the 88th District Court on one count of criminal sexual conduct second degree and one count of criminal sexual conduct second degree assault.
Serino was given a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 12 at 2 p.m.
Police noted Serino had close contact with other individuals during his time as a landlord.
