INKSTER, Mich. – Police are investigating a homicide that took place in Inkster.
The incident occurred on Thursday (Jan. 8) near Hazelwood Street and Middlebelt Road around 5:28 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a man being shot, and, later, being transported to a Metro Detroit hospital, where he died.
Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known threat to the community at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The Inkster Police Department emphasized that violence in any form is never acceptable and extended thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
Officials called on the community to unite in efforts to end gun violence and protect neighborhood safety and well-being.
