Wind advisory in effect for Southeast Michigan on Jan. 9, 2026 (WDIV)
A wind advisory is in effect for all of Southeast Michigan on Friday.
The wind advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2026.
Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected on Friday. Peak gusts will occur late morning into early afternoon with the passage of a cold front.
Warm, wet Friday
Temperatures continue to rise in the aftermath of a passing warm front. We will likely rise into the upper 50s through mid-morning, which will break the previous record of 55 degrees set in 1880 and 1949. Temperatures will fall through the afternoon behind the cold front. We drop about 20 degrees from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where we will drop into the upper 30s later Friday evening.
Don’t forget to grab an umbrella this morning. Scattered showers will persist until mainly 10 a.m. until the trailing cold front pushes rain chances off to the east. We will be drier, but cooler this afternoon.
