4 workers charged in deadly Oakland County hyperbaric chamber explosion to return to court

The CEO and three other workers who were charged after a 5-year-old boy was killed in a hyperbaric chamber explosion at an Oakland County health care center are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday as their preliminary examination continues.

Tamela Peterson, 59, of Brighton, Jeffrey Mosteller, 65, of Clinton Township, Gary Marken, 66, of Spring Arbor and Aleta Moffitt, 61, of Rochester Hills, were charged after Thomas Cooper was killed when the hyperbaric chamber he was receiving treatment in exploded at the Oxford Center in Troy on Jan. 31, 2025. The boy’s mother was also injured in the explosion.

A few people get mail sent to her house. So CURE is denying Michigan woman’s stolen car claim

A Michigan woman said CURE insurance is denying her claim after her $22,000 car was stolen out of her driveway. And it’s because other people sometimes receive mail at her house.

The Detroit resident says her car was stolen out of the driveway last summer while she was sleeping. It was later found to be a total loss, but she says her insurance is canceling her policy for what they call misrepresentation.

Ring camera video shared with Local 4 captured the moment the woman says thieves drove off with her 2019 Dodge on the morning of July 12.

She bought a Visa gift card in Ann Arbor. Right when she checked out, hundreds vanished

A woman bought a Visa gift card at a store in Ann Arbor, and moments after she checked out, hundreds of dollars vanished from the card.

“I just went over to the little rack where you get the cards, and I grabbed one, and I remember hearing stories of, ‘Don’t ever take the first or second one, so I dug to the back,” Christine Anderson of Ann Arbor said.

Anderson went to an Ann Arbor Kroger a week ago. She needed to buy a Visa gift card for about $300.

Weather: Metro Detroit braces for extreme cold, more snow on the way

A 4Warn Weather Alert remains in effect this morning. The National Weather Service has all of SE Michigan under a Winter Weather Advisory until 10AM due to lake effect snow showers early this morning bringing a coating on some of the area roads, blowing snow and very cold wind chills as low as -15F. Highs today will only be in the teens but feeling like low single digits at best.
