ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The woman who crashed into a store in Oakland County, maneuvered and tried to back out, and then crashed into it again, over and over, following a police chase, has pleaded guilty to her charges.

Katrina Deann-Renee Patterson, 26, of Canton, was charged with multiple felonies, including fleeing police, assaulting officers and malicious destruction of property and a building.

On Nov. 9, 2025, just before 1 a.m., police responded to the area of W Fourth Street and S Center Street for a report of a person driving their car on train tracks.

Police said the driver, Patterson, refused to cooperate when officers arrived at the scene. One of the car’s tires appeared to be flat and officers saw an open container of alcohol in the car.

When officers asked for her driver’s license, Patterson allegedly drove away northbound on Washington Avenue.

Police then chased after the woman west on Farnum Avenue to Oakridge Avenue, which ended at an alley parallel to northbound Woodward Avenue.

Officials said she turned into the alley, where she drove and crashed into the Ulta Beauty off Woodward.

After Patterson initially drove into the store, video showed the car repeatedly backing up and driving through the store, eventually ramming into a police car in the process.

Patterson was then arrested. A man riding as a passenger in the car was also arrested, but was later released with a citation for having open alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Police believe Patterson was driving under the influence.

According to police, her criminal history included a 2023 conviction for operating while intoxicated in Port Huron.

On Jan. 20, 2026, Patterson pleaded guilty to all charges. She is expected to be sentenced on March 10 at 8:30 a.m.
