Much like the Bad Boys’ rise to dominance in the late 1980s, The Belleville Three—Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson—helped define an era of music.
They created a sound born in Detroit that resonated worldwide.
The collaboration aims to educate fans on Detroit techno’s worldwide influence, give long-overdue recognition to The Belleville Three, and extend Detroit culture to audiences nationwide and abroad.
Designed in partnership with Sheefy McFly, a Detroit-based techno DJ and artist representing the city’s next creative generation, the capsule features four pieces: a hat, t-shirt, hoodie, and an in-arena exclusive jersey available only at the Team Store at Little Caesars Arena.
Each piece pays homage to the techno founders’ roots and influence, celebrating one of Detroit’s most influential cultural movements.
For The Belleville Three, the collaboration is about honoring the city that shaped their sound and continuing to push Detroit culture forward in new spaces.
As part of the collaboration, The Belleville Three will make a rare appearance at the Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets game on Feb. 1.
They will perform at halftime alongside the Pistons Jit Team as the organization celebrates 50 years of Jit, a Detroit-born dance style rooted in techno culture.
