The Detroit Regional Communication Center received a delayed call regarding the incident, which allegedly occurred along I-94. After the event, the caller drove home to northern Macomb County.
Troopers from the Metro North Post responded to the caller’s home and interviewed him as part of the preliminary investigation.
The victim stated he was traveling east on I-94 in the left lane when he noticed a dark-colored sedan in the center lane.
While driving side by side, the driver of the dark vehicle was said to be waving his arms.
Shortly after, the victim said he heard a gunshot.
Eastbound I-94 at Cadieux was temporarily closed for a casing search as part of the ongoing investigation.
“If you are involved in a road altercation, make yourself safe and call 911,” said First Lieutenant Mike Shaw. “The later you report an incident, the harder it is for detectives to locate the suspect and evidence.”
