A 4Warn Weather Alert has been issued for Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, in Metro Detroit.
Scattered light snow showers arrive Thursday afternoon through Friday morning with total accumulations of 1-2″ with isolated higher amounts.
Steady snowfall tapers off late Friday morning. However, a few snow squalls are possible Friday afternoon as wind gusts reach 30-40 MPH. Temperatures will plummet Friday evening, bottoming out around zero Saturday morning.
We issue a 4Warn Weather Alert when we’re expecting weather conditions that will be inconvenient to our viewers.
Why did we issue an alert for Friday?
Snow squalls are possible on Friday as snow and 30 to 40 MPH winds travel across Southeast Michigan on Feb. 6, which could impact the afternoon commute with slick roads and low visibility.
