Oakland University lifts lockdown after stabbing near Van Wagoner Hall

Victim is undergoing surgery in hospital

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University has lifted the lockdown on Van Wagoner Hall following a stabbing outside the building Thursday evening.

University officials say it is now safe for the campus community to resume normal activities.

On Feb. 5, police were called to the campus after receiving reports of a fight outside Van Wagoner Hall.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to the hospital and is currently undergoing surgery. The victim is not a student.

Police said witnesses described two suspects. One is described as a Black man in his early 20s, about 5′8″ to 5′10″, wearing a black North Face jacket, black pants, white shoes with blue on the back, and chin-length dreadlocks.

The second suspect is also a Black man in his early 20s, wearing a camouflage jacket with a black hood, black pants, and black shoes, with curly hair.

Both suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV.
