Oakland County babysitter accused of sexually assaulting child for years

WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An Oakland County babysitter was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a child for years.

Michael Alan Bank, 58, was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person under 13 and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person under 13.

The child’s mother told police on Jan. 8, 2026, that she used sittercity.com to hire Bank as a nanny. Over the following years, police said Bank allegedly sexually assaulted the child.

Police executed a search warrant at Bank’s home on Aeroview Street in West Bloomfield Township on Jan. 15, and arrested him.

At Bank’s home, detectives found and collected several electronic devices, which police said contained a “multitude” of evidence of children, including what appeared to be Bank with some of those children in various compromised positions and acts.

Bank was arraigned in court on Jan. 18 and was denied bond. He remains lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

Police believe there could be more victims in this case.
