Visitor finds man dead at park near Oakland County lake, police say

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man was found dead Monday morning at a park near a lake in Oakland County, police said.

The discovery was made before 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, near Wixom Road in the area of Proud Lake in Commerce Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said the body was found by a person who was visiting the park.

The man is believed to have been in his 20s.

Oakland County detectives are investigating the death.
