MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Monroe County firefighters saved an unresponsive toddler who was having a medical emergency.
The incident occurred on Monday, Feb. 16, at 9:36 a.m., when firefighters at Monroe County’s Fire Station 1, located at 911 E. Third Street, responded to an urgent emergency when a young mother arrived banging on the station’s rear door holding her unresponsive 1-year-old son.

The firefighters were said to have immediately begun advanced life support measures and called for an ambulance to expedite transport to a Metro Detroit hospital.
The crew worked quickly, applying their training and maintaining calm under pressure during the critical moments.
Thanks to their decisive actions and skilled emergency care, the child was transported awake and in stable condition.
