Waking up to a fresh coating of snow this morning. Intervals of light accumulating snow should taper off by daybreak. Colder start to the work week as temperatures remain steady with highs in the 20s. Brisk with wind gusts upward of 20 mph and the northwesterly flow will lead to wind chills today at least ten degrees cooler than air temperatures. Lows drop into the single digits tonight/Tuesday morning and wind chills down to around 0 degrees.
Widespread accumulating snow arrives late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Snow totals will be close to a half inch by the state line with amounts closer to 3 inches by Port Huron. The majority of the Metro area will be closer to 1 to 2 inches. Temperatures top out in the 30s through Thursday with another chance of accumulating snow Thursday, but as of right now the track of that system seems to be well south of the state line.
Temperatures rise into the 40s on Friday and Saturday, so any minor accumulation this week will begin to melt again by the end of the week.
