Teens denied bond in murder of 19-year-old found shot to death near Oakland County lake
2 teens face murder charges
Dshaun Omar Hatton-Street And Stephan Larryl Shaw (WDIV)COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two 19-year-olds have been charged with murder in the shooting of another 19-year-old whose body was found near an Oakland County lake.
Andre Sontay Avant Jr. was found Feb. 16, near the Proud Lake boat launch on Wixom Road. He had been shot in the head.
Police said someone visiting the park found his body.

Three teenagers were arrested in Avant’s death on Thursday, Feb. 19. Two were arrested in Romulus, while the third was apprehended in Garden City after reportedly trying to flee.
Authorities said the suspects and the victim all knew each other, but none had any connection to the area.
Dshaun Omar Hatton-Street and Stephan Larryl Shaw were both charged with open murder and felony firearm on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
They were denied bond. A probable cause conference is scheduled for March 11.
The third person taken into custody has since been released.
