MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Some communities in Macomb County are dealing with a boil water notice Wednesday morning following the break on a 36-inch water main.
Officials said a DTE subcontractor struck the water transmission main owned by the Great Lakes Water Authority in Chesterfield Township.
According to one of the communities affected by the water main break, it’s not clear when the repairs will happen.
On Feb. 25, GLWA reported its investigating a leak on the 36-inch water transmission line near Gratiot and 24 Mile Road.
GLWA said contractors are preparing to isolated the main so that the site can be excavates and repairs can begin.
As of Wednesday morning, the Village of New Haven has a boil water alert. Meanwhile, a boil water advisory is in effect for Lenox Township water customers on Gratiot Avenue near 30 Mile Road.
In Chesterfield Township, officials said there is no boil water advisory, citing it’s not necessary.
