A criminal complaint filed against Baker was unsealed on Feb. 26, 2026, and the investigation into the Flat Rock man began in September 2025.

An agent with Homeland Security Investigations was working undercover, posing on an undisclosed social media app as the father of a daughter under the age of 10. The undercover agent was in various chat rooms on the social media platform, some of which were dedicated to child pornography.

On Sept. 22, 2025, Baker, who authorities said was under the username “spclneeds,” privately messaged the undercover agent, asking, “What’s up with promoting you have a daughter?” and later asked, “Like is she cute?”

Court documents provided a lengthy chat log between the undercover agent and Baker. Baker allegedly asked for more photos of the daughter. The undercover agent then provided photos of what appears to be a little girl, but instead was an age-regressed, gender-swapped image of the undercover agent.

“She’s really so beautiful, my heart’s racing a little thinking I’ll be able to see her soon,” Baker allegedly messaged after allegedly arranging to meet with the undercover agent.

Baker allegedly continued to message back and forth with the undercover agent, saying he wanted to sexually abuse the “child” and told the undercover agent about talking to multiple young girls on social media, and sent child pornography to the undercover agent.

On Nov. 18, 2025, the criminal complaint stated that Baker may have been banned by the social media application after sending the undercover agent a child sexually abusive video.

Baker then created a second account under the username “spclneed” and allegedly continued to communicate with the undercover agent. During this conversation, he allegedly told the undercover agent that he was in Flat Rock and that he drives a Ford Edge, after continuing to discuss arranging a meeting.

After Baker allegedly talked about what he wanted to do to the “child,” authorities said he sent two photos of himself to the undercover agent.

Federal authorities searched through “Spclneeds’” social media account on the undisclosed platform and went through the account’s information, specifically the first and last name attached to the account. Agents found that Baker’s name was listed on the account in 2013, but has since been changed to various pseudonyms.

Agents also learned that the account’s IP information was tracked to Baker’s address in Flat Rock.

Federal authorities executed a search warrant at Baker’s home on Feb. 25, 2026. During the search, Baker was interviewed.

According to the criminal complaint, Baker admitted the social media account “spclneeds” belonged to him and said it was deactivated.

He also allegedly admitted to sending a video of child pornography and described the video to federal authorities as “a little girl performing sexual acts on what appeared to be a grown man.”

He then allegedly told authorities that he was in social media groups called “any age,” where children aged 15 to 17 would join. He said these children would “very, very rarely” post nude photos. He also said that he chatted with about 20 children in the group.

Baker allegedly admitted that some of these social media groups he was part of contained child pornography, containing sexually abusive content with children as young as toddlers.

According to the Michigan Sex Offender Registry, Baker is an active registered sex offender and was last verified on Jan. 12, 2026.

Baker further admitted to federal authorities that he had sexual contact between zero and 20 times with the 11-year-old victim from his prior sexual assault conviction.
