Delivery driver pinned by vehicle, killed while unloading car at Eastpointe dealership, police say

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A delivery driver was killed Tuesday while unloading a car at an Eastpointe dealership, police said.

At 5:40 p.m. on March 4, officers responded to Gravity Autos at 24717 Gratiot. They received a report that a man was unloading a vehicle from a car hauler when he was pinned between the vehicle and the trailer’s roof, according to a release from the Eastpointe Police Department.

When officers arrived, the man had already died.

Police said the victim, a 55-year-old Missouri man, was the delivery driver and the owner of the truck.

There are no signs of foul play, according to the police department.

“The Eastpointe Police Department extends its condolences to the friends and family of the deceased,” police said.
