“I’ve been buying one Millionaire Maker ticket a week since the game came out,” the lucky player said. “I scratched the ‘Your Numbers’ section of the ticket first and saw 44 had ‘$1MIL’ underneath it. Then I scratched the ‘Winning Numbers’ section next. When I revealed 44 as one of my winning numbers, I thought: ‘This can’t be real!’ I tried to stay calm, but I was so excited.”
He purchased his winning ticket at Lakeside Convenience Store at 506 5th Street in Michigan Center, which is located about five miles east of Jackson.
Michigan Lottery officials said he decided to claim his prize as a one-time lump sum of about $693,000 and plans to save it for his retirement.
The Millionaire Maker game launched in September 2025, and since then, players have won more than $78 million.
Every $50 ticket for this game gives players the chance to win prizes from $50 to $6 million.
There are still $233 million in prizes for players to win, including a $6 million prize, ten $1 million prizes and 48 $10,000 prizes, according to lottery officials.
