DETROIT – Two men have been charged with murder in the death of a 21-year-old man from Fenton on Detroit’s west side.

Police believe Mason Tabor went to sell a gun on Dec. 16, 2024, to Jalen Davon Williams and Hodari Heatley at an abandoned school off Wildemere Street.

He was shot multiple times before the suspects reportedly stole two guns, Tabor’s phone and car keys before moving his vehicle away from the school.

Tabor’s family said he stopped communicating with them, so they tracked his phone, leading to the discovery of his vehicle. A police K-9 would find his body inside the building.

Williams and Heatley were both charged with felony murder, first-degree murder, armed robbery and felony firearm. Heatley faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

They were denied bond and remanded to jail. A probable cause conference is scheduled for March 16.
