ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A Canton Township woman will spend a year in jail after driving a vehicle into an Ulta Beauty store in Royal Oak.
Royal Oak police said they were called to the intersection of Fourth and Center streets on Nov. 9, 2025, on reports of a driver on the train tracks. Officers said the driver, identified as Katrina Deann-Renee Patterson, refused to cooperate during a traffic stop.
Officers said they noticed one of the car’s tires was going flat and saw an open container of alcohol in the car.
When they asked for her driver’s license, Patterson reportedly sped off.
Video of the chase captures the vehicle crashing into an Ulta Beauty off Woodward Avenue, where Patterson repeatedly backs up and drives into the store, eventually ramming into a police car.
Patterson was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple felonies, including fleeing police, assaulting officers and malicious destruction of property and a building.
She pleaded guilty on Jan. 20 and was sentenced Tuesday, March 10, to one year in jail, three years’ probation and 30 days of community service.
