A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Genesee, Lapeer, Sanilac, and St. Clair counties.

The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of eastern Lower Michigan near Lake Huron, effective Tuesday (March 10) night into Wednesday morning from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

The watch area was described as roughly along and 30 statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles south-southwest of Saginaw to 35 miles east-southeast of Bad Axe.
