What is a 4Warn Weather Alert?

We issue a 4Warn Weather Alert when we’re expecting weather conditions that will be inconvenient to our viewers.

Why did we issue an alert for Monday?

A Wind Advisory in Southeast Michigan expires at midnight on Tuesday, March 17.

As winds shift direction today behind the cold front, arctic air sends temperatures tumbling from the 60s (that we hit just after midnight) into the 20s by this evening. The arctic air also brings increasing chances for lake-effect snow bands and possible snow squalls Monday afternoon.

Snow squalls could lead to whiteout conditions for the evening commute on Monday, so exercise caution.
