West Bloomfield temple attack: Video shows police searching flooded Temple Israel
Newly obtained body camera footage shows police searching the flooded building after the West Bloomfield temple attack.
The attacker’s vehicle caught fire when it drove through the temple, and there was gunfire exchanged with security personnel. Officials said the attacker died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No children or staff members at the temple were injured.
On Wednesday, March 18, Local 4 obtained body camera footage from the March 12 attack.
9 hurt, including officers, after wrong-way crash, semi-truck fire in Wayne County
Nine people were taken to a hospital after a wrong-way crash sparked a semi-truck fire in Wayne County on Wednesday.
The crash happened on Ford Road at Haggerty Road, near I-275, on March 18, just before 1 p.m.
According to Canton Township Interim Police Chief Joseph Bialy, a car was speeding southbound in the northbound lanes while a semi-truck was turning at the intersection, leading to the crash.
The crash caused fuel to spill from the semi-truck, which ignited and trapped everyone in their vehicles, Bialy said.
Four of the officers who responded to the scene pulled the passengers out to safety, but got injured in the process.
Human remains found in recently purchased home in Michigan, police say
Human remains were found at a recently bought home in Michigan on Wednesday, and police are investigating.
A person who recently purchased a home on Willard Road in Forest Township, about 20 miles north of Flint, called police on March 18, just before 1 p.m., reporting he found what he believed to be human remains.
20-year-old woman killed in Wayne County mobile home community shooting; suspect in custody
A 20-year-old woman was shot and killed in a Wayne County mobile home community.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (March 18), when the Sumpter Township Police Department responded around 4:10 p.m. to Edgewood Drive in the Rawsonville Woods Mobile Home Community.
When officers arrived, they said they found the woman lying in the street with a gunshot wound to her upper torso.
