Macomb County man accused of killing woman in front of her children Children ages 5 to 17 reportedly witnessed fatal shooting

CENTER LINE, Mich. – A Macomb County man is facing murder charges after reportedly killing his girlfriend in front of her children .
According to authorities, Erica Marie Sanders was shot by Zachary Fuqua on Tuesday, March 17, in the kitchen of her Center Line home.
Police said three of her four children were home at the time, ages 5-17 years old.
Fuqua was taken into custody.
On Friday, March 20, Fuqua was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and three counts of felony firearm.
He was denied bond and remanded into custody.
Fuqua has a probable cause conference scheduled for April 1.
