OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Police are urging the public to avoid the area of Quarton Road between Franklin and Inkster roads due to a barricaded gunman situation in Oakland County.

A large police presence, including Oakland County SWAT, is on scene on Raven Road in Bloomfield Township on Thursday (March 19).

Officials said the incident is isolated to a single residence.

Residents in the area are being asked to stay indoors.

South Hills Middle School is serving only as a staging area for emergency responders.

Officials confirmed there is no threat to the school or its students.

Police and fire units remain on scene, and updates will be provided as the situation develops.
