33 injured after tour bus headed to Michigan casino crashes in Green Bay, police say

GREEN BAY, Wis. – A tour bus carrying 54 passengers from Chicago to a casino in Michigan crashed in Green Bay on Sunday, leaving 33 people injured, police said.

The crash happened just before 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, when the bus exited northbound I-43 onto North Webster Avenue, crossed the roadway and went over the embankment, according to a release from the Green Bay Police Department.

First responders transported the injured passengers to four area hospitals, and uninjured passengers were taken to the reunification center located at The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center at 1315 Lime Kiln Road.

Passengers told NBC 26 they were heading to Harris, Michigan, in Menominee County, in the southwestern part of the Upper Peninsula, when the crash occurred.

Wisconsin State Police are assisting with the investigation and are inspecting the bus for any possible mechanical defects.

“The GBPD will determine whether to refer charges against the bus driver,” according to the release.
