OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – An Oakland County woman has played the same set of lottery numbers for years. This time, she ended up winning a $1.2 million Lotto 47 jackpot.
The 69-year-old, who decided to stay anonymous, matched the six Lotto 47 numbers that were drawn on March 11 (02-16-18-19-26-42) to win her big prize, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

“I’ve been playing the same set of Lotto 47 numbers for years, so when I checked the winning numbers after the drawing, I recognized them right away,” said the player. “I woke my husband up and said: ‘I think I just won the lottery.’ We got my ticket and looked it over and that’s when I knew I really had just won the lottery!”
The woman bought her ticket at the Cloverleaf BP at 28995 Telegraph Road in Southfield.
Lottery officials said the player chose to receive her jackpot as a one-time lump sum payment of about $832,000.
“Winning this prize means my husband can retire and we can relax and just enjoy life,” the player said.
Players pay $1 per Lotto 47 play and pick six numbers from 1 to 47. The jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until someone wins.
For $1 more per play, players can add Double Play for a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in a separate nightly drawing. For another $1 per play, they can add EZMatch for instant prizes up to $500.
The drawings are held at 7:29 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.
