People are invited to participate in the creepy, cool Count Cat Easter Egg Hunt, where they have the chance to win prizes and potentially meet the Evil Easter Bunny. (Count Cat Easter Egg Hunt)

This Easter, Count Cat is turning holiday fun into a local business crawl, and prizes are part of the deal.

The Count Cat Easter Egg Hunt (March 29-April 4) sends participants to a handful of Detroit-area independent businesses, where hidden eggs are waiting to be found.

Prizes include DVD feature films from Planet 9 Films, music from DEATH CAT, festival waivers for Planet 9 Film Fest, pizza from Pie Sci Pizza, rentals from Occult 83 Video Store, gift cards at Flipside Records, bicycle tune-ups at Town n’ Country in Livonia, and hair cut discounts at Major Tom Styles in Royal Oak.

Fair warning: some eggs include gag prizes, and participants might run into the Evil Easter Bunny.

How to participate

Sign up by messaging @count_cat on Instagram or emailing castlecatshow@gmail.com. Once you arrive at a participating location, send a photo (1 point) or a video (2 points). Let the clerk know you are participating in the Count Cat Easter Egg Hunt, then choose an egg from the basket.
