A new list revealed the five types of cars that are most likely to be stolen in Michigan.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau says that across the country, car thefts are down, dropping 23% in 2025.

That’s the lowest level in decades. We’re seeing a similar trend in Michigan, with theft down 22%. But it does appear thieves have a favorite target here in Michigan.

Here’s the list of the most frequently stolen cars:

  1. Jeep Grand Cherokee
  2. Dodge Durango
  3. RAM 1500
  4. Chevrolet Malibu
  5. Dodge Charger

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was the most stolen car in the state, with more than 1,200 thefts in 2025. Coming in second was the Dodge Durango, followed by the Ram 1500, the Chevy Malibu, and the Dodge Charger.
