DETROIT – A malnourished puppy was rescued from an unlikely place -- perched at the very top of a chimney in an abandoned Detroit home.

According to Michigan Humane, a neighbor spotted the dog and made the call for help. The foundation of the house had crumbled, so the organization reached out to the Detroit Fire Department, which safely brought the puppy down using a ladder truck.

It’s unknown how the pup got on the roof.

The dog, now named Stack, has been treated and is now recovering at Michigan Humane’s Mackey Center for Animal Care.

“Good calls, quick action and the right people at the right time made this rescue possible,” Michigan Humane said.
