MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents that they may see teens with water guns, as part of a high school tradition.
High school seniors continue to play “Senior Assassins,” a game involving students stalking each other with water guns.

“Although we do not condone the game, we would like to keep the public informed. We know area seniors are already engaged in playing the game again this year,” said Sheriff Troy Goodnough.
Additionally, the sheriff’s office is asking students to be cautious when it comes to playing the game, saying that hiding in the dark with something that could be mistaken as a real gun is a “recipe for disaster.”
Students are asked not to trespass and to use brightly colored squirt guns. If approached by police, students are told not to run or hide but to explain what they’re doing.
