DETROIT – A driver who fled police and then got out of his car in the middle of the road broke into a Detroit home through a window, left, hid under a trampoline, jumped a fence twice, and then got arrested by about a dozen officers.

Michigan State Police released helicopter footage of the chase on Friday, April 10.
The video begins with a driver heading south on Biltmore Street from 7 Mile Road on Detroit’s west side.
After police made contact with the driver, the car left and went back onto 7 Mile Road and continued south past Outer Drive.
He left the main road onto Curtis Street and drove on the grass and sidewalk through several yards. Later, on Santa Maria Avenue, the car slowed down and stopped in the middle of the road.
The driver ran between two houses on foot. Infrared footage shows the man as he tried to get into a home through a window.
“Opening the window, he’s trying to get in now,” the dispatcher said. “Window’s open. He’s halfway inside, and he’s going to be inside now.”
The infrared camera later showed him leaving that house as several officers gave chase. He ran down an alley between Indiana Avenue and Wisconsin Street.
He hid in a backyard underneath a trampoline until he saw officers coming and crawled back out. He jumped over a fence, jumped back over it into the yard, and was ultimately trapped by about a dozen officers right next to the trampoline.
