Child injured after jumping out of window in house fire in Detroit

Child sent to local hospital with minor injuries

DETROIT – A young child was injured after jumping from a window during a house fire in Detroit Tuesday morning.

A home in the 3800 block of 29th Street caught fire at around 9 a.m. on May 26.

When crews arrived at the scene, they saw fire coming from the second floor of the home. They were told that everyone had gotten out, and a young girl had jumped out of the window.

The child was taken to a local hospital for her injuries. According to the Detroit Fire Department, her injuries appear to be minor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
