EASTPOINTE, Mich. – Police are searching for the suspect who shot a victim in the stomach at a Wendy’s in Eastpointe.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (June 10) when officers with the Eastpointe Police Department were dispatched at about 4:40 p.m. to the 18000 block of 9 Mile Road following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they said they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Eastpointe Fire Department personnel and MedStar ambulance crews provided lifesaving measures at the scene before the victim was transported to a the hospital.
Police said the victim was undergoing surgery and was listed in temporary serious condition.
Officials with the Eastpointe Police Department’s Detective Bureau and Special Investigations Unit launched an investigation and began collecting evidence from the scene.
Investigators said they interviewed several witnesses who provided information about the suspected shooter.
Police said the suspect had not been arrested as of Wednesday night and remained at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
