Harper Woods police investigating incident near I-94

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Police in Harper Woods are asking residents to avoid the area of Peerless and Damman streets near I-94 due to an active investigation.

All lanes of eastbound I-94 are currently closed at Moross Road while the investigation is underway.

Michigan State Police is assisting and appear to be scanning the roadway for evidence on foot with K-9 officers. At least one evidence can be seen on the road next to what appears to be a shell casing.

No other information has been shared by law enforcement other than to tell local residents to stay in their homes and avoid the area.

Aerial footage of the scene showed dozens of Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies congregating in the area along with local police.
