According to the Bayview Mackinac Race fleet leaderboard, around 108 skippers remain, others have made the decision to withdraw due to conditions facing their individual boats and crews.
So far in the race the Bayview Mackinac fleet has experienced extreme wind and wave conditions on Lake Huron.

At this time 85 boats have officially retired.
Before the race began, on July 16, it was reported 201 boats were a part of the race.
At the start of the race 193 boats were a part of takeoff.
There have been no serious injuries reported.
The organization says they support all vessels in withdrawal for safety, continue to monitor the fleet and watch evolving conditions.
