Gas prices across Michigan have gone up 20 cents since last week, bringing the average cost per gallon statewide to $4.15 for regular unleaded, after a short stint below $4.
For a full 15-gallon tank of gas that equates to about $62, approximately $11 more than the highest price reported last August, according to AAA.

In Metro Detroit, drivers are paying around $4.09 per gallon —roughly 12 cents more than last week’s average — which sat below $4 for the first time since April — and about 89 cents more than the same time last year.
The most expensive averages reported by AAA were in Lansing ($4.20), Grand Rapids ($4.19), and Benton Harbor ($4.19), with the least expensive averages reported in Marquette ($4.05), Metro Detroit ($4.09), and Traverse City ($4.12).
Domestic gasoline supply decreased from 212.1 million barrels to 210.5 million, according to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), while gasoline demand remained flat at 8.84 million. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.6 million barrels per day.
