RAISINVILLE TWP., Mich. – A 56-year-old Monroe woman and her 10-year-old passenger were both killed in a traffic crash involving multiple vehicles Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred around 7:12 p.m. on S. Custer Road, west of Plum Grove Drive in Raisinville Township. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the 56-year-old victim — identified as Amy M. Beason — had come to a stop in to turn into a private driveway when her 2025 Honda HR-V was struck from behind by a 38-year-old Dundee man driving a 2010 Ford F150 pickup. Deputies say the force of the impact caused the HR-V to move into the incoming traffic lane, when it was struck head-on by a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 61-year-old man from Montgomery Texas.

Deputies say the driver of the Silverado was accompanied in the vehicle by his wife in the front seat and two daughters, ages 18 and 23, both of whom were not belted. All four were transported to Toledo ProMedica Hospital where they remain in serious condition.
Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the incident to reach out at 734-240-7725. Anonymous tips can also be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
