1 dead, 3 injured after fire breaks out at Sterling Heights apartment building

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – One person is dead and three are injured after a massive fire ripped through a Sterling Heights apartment building late Wednesday. The condition of the victim hospitalized is not known at this time.

The fire broke out shortly after 11:30 pm. at the Sterling Knolls Apartments on 15 Mile Road. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire around 1 a.m. Thursday but not before the fire destroyed eight units of the apartment building.

Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion but are OK.

No word on what caused the fire.
