Road rage driver slaps, spits at driver who made crying gesture at him after slow turn in Troy

TROY, Mich. – Police are searching for a driver who slapped and spit at a driver in Troy after becoming enraged when the victim made a crying gesture at him.

The victim was driving a red 2009 Saturn Vue at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday on Stephenson Highway. Police said a man driving behind the Vue thought the victim turned too slowly and became enraged when the victim made a crying gesture toward him.

Police said the man got out of his vehicle, walked up to the Vue, reached inside and slapped the victim with an open hand. Police said the man spit on the victim, got back in his vehicle and drove away.

He is described as a white man in his 40s.
