OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A technical issue disrupted telephone communications Thursday creating a 911 emergency outage throughout Oakland County and has since been repaired.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the outage was caused by a third party 911 vendor that was installing a software update on 911 system servers which caused the system to malfunction.
